Marjon is a small University, with a strong sense of community, centred on student success.

We believe that each staff member contributes directly to the University’s growth and success, with our values at the heart of everything we do. We believe that diversity provides the talent and contribution that delivers the greatest impact on our continuing success and realising every individual’s potential.

We are seeking a Graduate Intern to join our Sport and Health Science Laboratory team in the School of Sport, Health and Wellbeing. The successful candidate will support academic practical sessions, assist in the delivery of commercial testing and workshops, as well as being responsible for day to day operational tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain a post-graduate qualification whilst developing vital experience of working within a busy Sport and Health Science facility.

Previous experience of working within a laboratory facility is desirable. The applicant must have completed a relevant undergraduate degree programme (i.e. Sport and Exercise Science, Strength and Conditioning etc.) and demonstrate a professional and responsible approach to the work, as well as commitment and independence.

For an informal discussion about the role please contact Chris Puleston or Ben Anniss , who are the Sport and Health Science laboratory Assistant and Officer, respectively.

Academic Graduate Interns will be required to study a University Masters with a fee discount of £3500.  In addition, and as an employee as well as a student of the University, Academic Graduate Interns will receive payment for the hours worked supporting the subject area.

The University really is a great place to work, with 94% of staff agreeing in our most recent staff survey.  Our Total Reward Package includes competitive salaries, generous Pension Schemes and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses and a range of activities under ‘Balance’ our staff health and wellbeing scheme.

We are a ‘Disability Confident Employer’. Candidates who declare a disability and who demonstrate on their application that they meet the essential criteria will be included on the shortlist
