We’ve received a lot of correspondence on Library opening, particularly so individuals can return books. We’re still working out how to do this but we’re hoping to be able to welcome you back to the Library on Monday 17th August; but as the campus is still closed, please do not attempt to visit campus just to return books: we will advise on the Community Hub when you are able to do this. For the moment, all Library books are now renewed until Thursday 1st October 2020, for all users. As we’re not charging fines during this period, you don’t have to return any Library items until then.
In terms of reopening, we’ve been working hard to get to that point, with the appropriate safety measures and social distancing in place. This means the service will be a little different than in the past. You’ll still have access to print materials, but we’ll be asking you to use a click and collect booking service to help limit contact points. Study spaces will be available but set up in a way that adheres to the social distancing rules, to keep everyone safe. We’ll be providing full updates and information as soon as we are able, so we’d recommend signing up to email notifications from the Hub, and following us on social media - @MarjonLibrary on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
Finally, just to reassure you that Library staff are still available to assist you over the summer. We have a huge number of electronic resources for you to access, so if you have any problems or questions using them (or just have a general query) the Library Enquiries inbox is monitored 9am to 5pm weekdays and our current turnaround is usually less than one working day. Additionally, if you’d prefer to speak to someone, send an email to request an appointment, and we’ll schedule one with a member of the Library team. Email email@example.com and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
We’re looking forward to welcoming you back soon, but in the meantime, stay safe and keep an eye on the Community Hub!
