Problems with Library Discovery and e-journals
by Claire Stevens - Tuesday, 25 October 2016, 1:17 PM

We are currently experiencing 2 issues with our Discovery and Publication Finder services

1. Full text access date ranges being incorrect on some journals – ie. The service indicates access from 1972 but our access is from 1997.

2. Some journal titles are being identified as full text when we do not have access to them at all. These journal titles are included within the SCOPUS database, which is abstract & index only but for some reason it is being recognised as a full text resource by Discovery and Publication Finder.

Both of these issues have been logged with Ebsco, the provider, to try and resolve them as soon as possible. In the meantime, apologies for any inconvenience or frustration this may cause if your search results lead you to believe that you have full text access but you cannot gain access.

Please email libraryenquiries@marjon.ac.uk if you have any trouble with accessing journals and would like us to double check for you.

An update on this - our supplier has finally been able to sort the problem out. All journal subscriptions should now be appearing correctly, and only full text journals are actually being identified as full text.

Apologies for the length of time this has taken to sort.
